Swerve Strickland has been absent since AEW All Out, but Prince Nana is set to provide an update on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. The former AEW World Champion last appeared on AEW programming at AEW All Out.

All Elite Wrestling announced that HOOK will defend the FTR Championship against Roderick Strong at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. The bout was previously announced, but it was only labeled as taking place on Wednesday instead of given a distinct branding. AEW will hold AEW Dynamite live and then tape AEW Collision Grand Slam after.

At AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness will meet in the ring for the first time since 2009. Notably, this will be McGuinness’ first time competing in a singles match since 2011. McGuinness has often talked about his jealousy of Danielson and how he went on to have the career that he should have had.
