Publicly-traded data management Commvault has acquired data backup and recovery provider Clumio for an undisclosed amount.

Commvault to buy Clumio for $47 million to boost Amazon Web Services abilities, a price lower than Clumio’s $75 million Series D round.

Commvault Systems Inc. today announced plans to acquire Clumio Inc., a startup that helps companies back up the data they keep in the public cloud. Financial terms were not disclosed. Commvault stated that the acquisition price is “not material” and will be financed with cash on hand.
