Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes as Super Typhoon Man-yi is making landfall along the eastern coast of Catanduanes, Philippines on Saturday.

MANILA, Philippines — Super Typhoon Pepito has made a landfall in Panganiban, Catanduanes on Saturday evening, November 16. In its Facebook post, state weather bureau PAGASA said Pepito made landfall at 9:40 p.m. As of 8 p.m., Pepito was located over the coastal waters of Viga, Catanduanes.

The storm made landfall late Saturday as a super typhoon after packing winds of 161 miles per hour. Forecasters warned of a “potentially catastrophic” situation.
