Hurricane Helene will bring along heavy, yet beneficial rainfall to the entire Middle Tennessee region starting Thursday. Here's why the National Weather Service anticipates drought conditions to improve.

After Hurricane Helene makes landfall late Thursday evening in Florida, it’s path is expected to continue on to Tennessee, bringing heavy tropical downpours, gusty wind and even a flooding threat to the Midstate.

Between 0.75 and 2 inches of rain from Helene could fall through Sunday, while the threat of severe weather and flooding probably stays to our west.
